![]() I was so annoyed with the random thing I edited the recipes to knock it off. Avoiding bottlenecks with taking product out of greenhouses and running out of saplings can be annoying otherwise. I personally spread them out and give them their own saplings and wood buffers, but that's your choice.I play on peaceful so I can see space being an issue otherwise. The slowest inserter going from assembler to greenhouse here so the above takes priority.ģ Seperate the saplings and wood coming out of the greenhouse with smart inserters. The amount of saplings and wood you get is actually random, and even the amount of saplings you craft out of wood is random.Įssentially what you need are three things:ġ A chest for saplings that feeds back into the greenhouse with a fast inserter to take priority.Ģ A "buffer" for wood to be turned into extra saplings, without fertilizer you will never produce enough to refill the greenhouse. That explains a few things… not sure how that compares to a vanilla base.It is a bit trickier if you don't have fertilizer. lapd radio frequencies vivint smart doorbell video camera pro vdbc2 reviews pentair 2 inch multiport valve parts 3rd gen 4runner sway bar end link torque spec. If you’re out of RAM, well it can’t be upgraded on Mac, but at least you know what’s missing for your next laptop.Įdit: oh it’s 150 SPM of AngelBob, not vanilla. This makes self-preservation and protection key for everything present in their factories. The Mac is unusually bad at Factorio graphics because it’s running with OpenGL and not DirectX, and Apple’s OpenGL stack isn’t very good.ĭo you have a recent build of Factorio (1.1.71 or later)? Are you running lots of mods? Can you check timing info (F4)? Are you out of RAM (check Activity Monitor). In Factorio, players are forced to fend for themselves on extremely harsh planets with hostile aliens. If you’re seeing FPS = UPS then it’s UPS limited, but if UPS is greater then it’s graphics limited. M1 sometimes struggles with the graphics (FPS), but with appropriate settings it should be playable. It’s not the best of the best but it should be more than able to keep up with 150 SPM on Vanilla if you aren’t RAM limited. The Air will be a bit slower because it’s passively cooled. According to the FFF on Mac support, an M1 mini achieves 162 UPS in the Flame_sla 10k benchmark, comparable to a Core i7 12650H (edit: not KH). The M1 processor should run Factorio’s simulation side (UPS) better than most other laptops. Any help is appreciated!Īs a sanity check: there may be a way to get past your bottleneck by changing settings, or you might be short on RAM or GPU rather than CPU. ![]() I plan on trying Py soon, but I know I need a better computer first. My current slow moving factory is about 500 hours in with all the Angels/Bob mods with all graphics settings as low as they go. I enjoy the portability of playing wherever I’d like. ![]() I’m NOT looking for a desktop (unless a laptop isn’t possible). If you can connect and play with a mouse and keyboard, you are golden, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the Steam Deck. Playing with the trackpad must be possible. Factorio was designed always with only mouse and keyboard in mind. I’m used to a 13 inch screen, so nothing smaller than that. I’m trying to find the best laptop to run Factorio for less than $2,000. But I really don’t know where to look as far as PCs go as I haven’t had one in decades. I know Macs aren’t generally good for gaming, so I’m not looking there. ![]() However, my current factory has slowed to 30 UPS/FPS on my M1 MacBook Air, so it’s time to upgrade (I’ve also tried an Intel MacBook Pro from 2019 but that’s even worse). I’ve never had a gaming computer before, usually just a “normal” laptop has worked fine for me.
